Perspectives of Social Media


1.     The worst social media campaign is still better that than not doing anything.

This is something that I have really learned to understand throughout this semester. During this semester I really got to learn how you can use social media to benefit yourself and your company, but even if you do not properly use social the publicity you get from any social media campaign. 



2.     Keeping relationships while being professional.

While on social media, you are there so that you can gain popularity as well as gain notoriety for your brand. But while you’re on social media you have to make sure that you remain professional. This is crucial because people need to view you as a professional organization in order to trust you. 


3.     There is no such thing as too much social media. 

I found this to be true this semester because even though sometimes it can be annoying to see the same ad over and over again it creates a brand. This is true because when someone sees an ad numerous times they will start to associate whatever they are doing at the time of the specific ad. These are the types of things a company needs to do in order to build their brand.

4.     Hashtags will always be #trending.

For a long time people have thought that you shouldn’t put a hashtag on your posts. People believe that this is a bad idea because it makes the post look weird. In actuality this is something that helps people connect your posts with related posts that you want them to connect with.


5.     It pays to spread across platforms. 

When thinking about social media for your company you have to make sure that you hit all the major platforms.  You have to do this so that you give yourself a chance to get to as many customers as possible. If you just use one or two platforms of social media you are only hurting yourself by not giving yourself a chance to succeed. 



6.     Stay on top of the timeline.

When working on your social media brand you have to make sure that you are committed to the process.  This is a priority because you need to be consistent to build a quality brand. When a company does not stay on top of their social media it will make customers no think of them when they could be thinking of buying a related product.  If this happens with enough people it could lead to a big amount of lost revenue. 


7.     Main website is a major key.

Having multiple social media platforms is something that can really benefit a company and that is a no brainer. That being said it is also beneficial for a company to have a main website that people know is their main site for information.  A website is something that should be used to keep people informed and the social media is there to build a brand.


8.     If you create relationships they will become customers.

When you are on social media the good thing is that you are not there to sell something, you are there to get the word out about your company.  When you are on social media you should be trying to make relationships with people. If you can have people view your company as something that people feel they can trust and feel they are looking out for them then it makes them feel more comfortable becoming a customer.


9.     Keep Friends as friends and business partners your business partners.

It is easy to say that your friends would be someone great to go into business with but this is normally a bad idea. It is fine to have friends help you out when times are rough but you have to know that it can be dangerous to your friendship. This is because just since someone is a good friend does not make them a good employee.


10.   Marketing is ALL about your delivery.

When you are marketing a product or service the main thing that counts is how you deliver your message. It does not matter if you have a great idea for what you want to tell your customers, if you do not have a plan to get your message across.  The main thing is that you have a plan to properly deliver your marketing plan.
